Neil Brophy Band and Fiddler on the Hoof this year just released their third album Road to Meo. A live album that has recieved high acclaim from the press for capturing their live & musical energy that has taken them across the european Festival circuit over the last fi ve years. The Copenhagen based band coming from Eng, NZ & Aus started this year touring with the Road to Meo in DK/ UK and Sweden. Next year they plan to continue touring late spring for six months across Denmark & Northern Europe.
Earthy, up beat, rootsy folk rock is what to expect when the band hit the stage. The anchor man Neil Brophy offers a warm & lifting deliverance of his songs (some co-written by bass player Robert Colby). Neil's songwriting roots stem from his 10 years experiences travelling the world as a troubadour. The later songs move into a more rockier style than the previous acoustic folk, giving a great blend of styles for a really versatile show. Their rhythmic, melodic and the anthemic choruses reach out to the crowd. David Fountain aka - the “Fiddler on the Hoof”, writes the instrumentals, that he performs in his own unique style. A real eye-opener for many people, with his use of electric effects & animated way of fi ddle playing.
They have come a long way from their old bar-room folklore style, both musically and professionally, bringing with them a cult following. After this summers festival performances the band have again stamped their ground as a high energy festival act always giving the audience value for money.
